Tag!

Checkers tagged me! Yay, I love playing!!

Here are the rules
1. Go to photo files....select the 6th folder
2. Select the 6th photo in that folder
3. Post the photo along with the story behind it
4. Tag 5 of our friends to do the same thing

I went to the 6th folder of pictures since I have been living with my parents. (I am sure all the pictures before me are booooooring!)

This is me when I was a puppy, about 8 or 9 weeks old. I am standing on my Uncle Brad's back. See how blurry I am?! I have always been very fast. (And mom not so good with the camera...)

My mom was happy to look at these old pictures, and thought you might also like to see a couple of other photos from that folder.

Now I am tagging 5 other friends:

Mona & Mommy
Nala
Bell
Abby
Lorenza

Have fun!

P.S. I still need two more takers for Pay it Forward! I promise I will send a good surprise! :)

Pay it Forward

Back in April, we received our Pay it Forward surprise from Melissa and Emmitt. We have been enjoying our surprise ever since, but have not posted about it yet. We received some of Melissa's pawesome address labels and to-do lists (one of my mom's most favourite things!!) AND, a signed print!! Here it is, above our computer area:

Thanks again, Melissa and Emmitt for letting us play Pay it Forward with you!

The Pay It Forward exchange is fun and easy to play. Here is the concept:

The exchange focuses on doing an act of kindness without expecting anything in return other than that the recipient will, in their turn, pass the kindness along and 'pay it forward' in their own way.

So here is how it works...

The first 3 people who comment on this post and want to play, please email me (link to my address on my profile page) your mailing address so that I may send you a surprise.

Then all you do is post a Pay It Forward Exchange on your blog, link back to us, and send the first 3 people to comment on your post a little surprise.

It does not have to be expensive, store bought or even handmade. It can be whatever you want to send to make someone smile.

Who wants me to send them a surprise?!

He's back!!

I think these might actually be from the raccoon's initial visit (that we saw)...

P.S. I am going to try to get around to visit everyone this week. Mom's excuse for not helping is that it is a very busy time at work!!

Need a bit of cheer?

It has been such a sad time for a lot of us, so I thought you might like to read something funny. We are not intending to rip anyone off with this post below; Mom received this email, and we don't know who wrote it!

Ten Peeves that Dogs Have About Humans:

1) Blaming your farts on me..... not funny... not funny at all !!!

2) Yelling at me for barking. I'M A FREAKIN' DOG!

3) Taking me for a walk, then not letting me check stuff out. Exactly whose walk is this anyway?

4) Any trick that involves balancing food on my nose. Stop it!

5) Any haircut that involves bows or ribbons. Now you know why we chew your stuff up when you're not home.

6) The sleight of hand, fake fetch throw. You fooled a dog! Whoooo Hoooooooo, what a proud moment for the top of the food chain.

7) Taking me to the vet for 'the big snip', then acting surprised when I freak out every time we go back!

8) Getting upset when I sniff the crotches of your guests. Sorry, but I haven't quite mastered that handshake thing yet.

9) Dog sweaters. Hello ??? Haven't you noticed the fur?

10) How you act disgusted when I lick myself. Look, we both know the truth. You're just jealous.

Now lay off me on some of these things. We both know who's boss here! You don't see me picking up your poop do you?

Goodbye Michael Jackson

We are sad today. This is one of my mom's favourite Michael Jackson songs... she hopes you won't make fun of her childhood love for the movie Free Willy.

Intruder!

Chewy and I were doing our regular weekend guarding from our couch in the living room....

When our mom alerted us to something in the backyard! At first she thought it was a big cat, but took another look and saw that it was a raccoon! When she sent dad out to take a picture, this is what he captured: (you might have to click on the pictures to see better)

Awards!

Thanks to my two good buddies Mango and Coco for the new awards!

First up, from Mango, the "Paw"some Blog Award:

"This award is presented to those dog bloggers out there who know the meaning of GREATNESS. Their blogs are consistently interesting, funny, or informative. Their KINDNESS is extended to others without expectation of it’s return, and their FRIENDSHIP inspires others to do EXTRAORDINARY things. These are the blogs you can’t wait to read everyday.

In short, they are AWE-INSPIRING, full of wonder, and simply PAWsome! Pass this award on to 4 others who you feel exemplify a "Paw"some Blog, and leave a note saying why you think they deserve the Pawsome Award!"

What a sweet award; thank you Mango! While I really feel the same way about all of my friends blogs, I am to pass it on to only four others:

1. Rachel, Winston & Clementine - Foodie Fridays are one of my favourite days! If you haven't already, you should stop over at their blog and check out the Foodie Friday archive! Don't forget to submit your recipe and pictures so you can take part too.

2. Melissa & Emmitt - I love learning about new and fun art projects that are going on over there, and seeing Emmitt displaying new bears that Melissa makes for the Mother Bear Project. It is really pawesome - have a look at one of Melissa's bears IN Zambia!

3. Tibby - Have you seen the adoptable doggies that sweet Tibby has featured on her blog? Also, check out her mommy's new store: Scruffy Dog Collars.

4. Mona & the Mommy - This is a great bloggie to go for a cheer up - they post beautiful flower pictures, quotes and information about Dachshunds getting rescued!

Big & Little

This is what Chewy looked like when he moved in:

Here is a newer picture:

Doesn't he look slim?! The new picture is a little deceiving because he has his ears back in it, and he is making a sad face (and his neck fat is hiding - haha!) - so don't worry, he is still his pudgy self. But we thought you might like to look at the difference between the two pictures!

P.S. I know some of you were worried that Clover didn't get any of the tartar bone in the last post. Of course we gave Chewy and Clover each their own bone - but those little dorks only ever want the SAME bone. So they take turns stealing it from each other!! Clover is particularly good at it, waiting until Chewy turns away, then grabbing it!

Waiting...

Waiting patiently for my turn with the delicious tartar bone.
