The New Years Adventure

I know this is extremely late, but I am so behind! When we went to visit grandma and grandpa over the holidays (New Years weekend) it started to get a bit stormy on the way there.

But we were super good pugs and just sat in our seats during the long drive.

We had a great visit, seeing lots of family and spending time together. But the whole time we were there, it was very stormy and windy - we didn't even want to go outside. The wind almost knocked me over a few times, but Chewy was fine since he is so heavy. Hehe.

Anyway, this is what it looked like up the street the morning we set out to leave:

Then it started getting worse...

The highway was closed and people were zooming into the ditch and into each other all over the place, so we stopped to stay the night at a motel. Thank goodness for the leftover turkey and clementines, because we were not getting anywhere!! (And thank goodness for the extra dog food too!)

We watched some tv, played some games, watched the weather network and hung out together while we waited out the storm.

The next day was a much better day for a drive, and we made it home safely! We even got some cool pictures from the car. The only harm was mom and dad missing their first day of work back after the holidays... oh well!

It sounds like you guys had a fun adventure! The snow is kinda purdy. Too bad it has to hang around for so long that it gets dirty and slushy. Not to mention how dang cold it makes everything!

Hmmmm, missing their first day back at work....could be worse. :) Personally, I would LOVE it if my Mom missed her work. What a snowstorm that was though....glad you stopped and waited it out.

Thanks for re-posting about Bandit. Your thoughtfulness is truly appreciated. Our online pug pals have been the best and we feel so fortunate to have each and everyone in out lives. Sometimes it has come from complete strangers, but a pug owner themselves, just reaching out to us. Pug people are indeed a special group in their own right.
