Here is another new friend...

A woodpecker! You will have to click the picture so you can see him on the side of the house just beyond the windows.

Sometimes we hear him (or maybe his friend?) pecking on the wood shed roof, which is made of tin. I am not sure how smart of a woodpecker he is...

But he sure likes our house. We found these little holes all over the outside of the house!!

Our dad isn't too fond of woodpeckers because they hammer holes in his beautiful barns!

We have a family of woodpeckers that live in our backyard too. I think your little redheads are confused!

woodpeckers are cool! we used to have one that came every spring and peck holes in our old apple tree. it seemed that there was a woodpecker on that tree for many, many years. one day we came home from a weekend away to find our poor woodpecker on the front porch, he was left as a gift from our kitty. :o(

on a side note, did you have a pest inspection when you bought you house? woodpeckers peck for food, wood eating bugs. it would definitely make me nervous to have one pecking my house, since it is looking for dinner.
sorryto be a downer. :o(
